Behind the Scenes

Tonight’s dinner was something that I don’t have too often.

021

Pasta! I’m not sure why, we just usually have potatoes, rice, etc. I remembered how yummy it was though.

024

These brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly. Sometimes they can be a little hard and have a very strong flavor to me. Luckily these were awesome and I loved them!

022

I used Whole Foods whole wheat penne pasta, grilled some chicken and put a bit of mozzarella cheese on top to melt. This is the healthier version of chicken parmesan! The breading definitely was not missed and this was just as good, maybe even better ;D

While eating I realized I use my knife in my right hand (I am a righty) but then I usually put the knife down and switch my fork over from my left to my right. It got me thinking if I was the only one? I know my dad has always done that so that’s probably where I got it from, and I will use the fork in my left sometimes. If everything is cut up though or I won’t stay using the knife (such as to eat the pasta and veggies), then I will switch. Totally random and off topic but I’m curious as to what you all do!

The other day it was time to go food shopping again. I feel like I am always at the store buying food! It’s crazy how much food we consume. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to show you guys a “behind the scenes” of my kitchen.

Here are the miscellaneous items. Fact: I am ADDICTED to gum. This one specifically and I consume this 3 pack in less than a week. Not normal. This is my favorite shampoo ever and I needed a new water bottle:)

Onto the real kitchen stuff.

Breads

Whole wheat pita to make homemade pita chips, ton of sweet potatoes/regular ones, Ezekiel sprouted grain, and whole wheat/honey wheat bagels. I normally don’t get bagels but these were buy one get on free and hello I can’t pass that up.

Cold cuts (turkey/ham), cheese, hummus. Laughing cow and others in fridge.

Breakfast

Cereal, coffee, Lara bars. I have way more cereal and granola in the pantry!

Pantry

DSC01551

Pumpkin, peanut butter (haven’t tried yet!), beans, pretzels. Tons more stuff not pictured, but this is what I bought that day.

This was one of the most expensive shopping’s I’ve done in a while. I think between shampoo/conditioner (so expensive) to coffee and stuff like that it make it a lot more! At least I’ll be fully stocked for a while ;D

Have a great night everyone, sleep in tomorrow!

  1. Yum! Your dinner looks so good!
I do the same thing with my fork and knife! I thought I was the only one! 😛 Im a righty! I love grocery shopping, especially for cereal. I love trying out new brands etc. I go shopping with my mom about 2 times a week, sometimes more to get some more must have items such as milk etc. 🙂

  2. My mom is a righty and she holds her knife in her left hand with her fork in her right. She learned that from all of her years over-seas in Germany. 🙂 I usually do it like you — cut it, place the knife down, and switch hands for the fork (I’m a righty). Some of my favorite foods at the grocery store are bananas, oatmeal, the nut buttah section, fruits and vegetables in general, and the frozen section. 🙂 Oh, and we go grocery-shopping once a week. Do you like the Blueberry Larabars? I’ve been wanting to try that.

    • haha same!! um this was my first time trying the blueberry and I was a little disappointed to be honest. I thought it would be a stronger blueberry flavor but it was still good, just not what I expected 🙂 it probably wouldn’t be my first pick next time
